Frassinoro - Piandelagotti (MO)

Welcome to Frassinoro-Piandelagotti, with naturally beautiful landscapes, it is a paradise for cross-country skiing. With of trails, which become 1,000 thanks to various alternative routes, the highly equipped Boscoreale Cross Country Center this is one of the top ten Italian resorts for Nordic skiing.

Located inn the heart of the Regional Park of Frignano, along the peaks between Tuscany and Emilia, where the provinces of Modena, Reggio Emilia and Lucca come together, this area is part of the “Super Nordic Skipass” system, the exclusive circuit of about twenty cross-country centers in the Alps and the Apennines, all accessible with a single card. Thanks to connections between Tuscany and the Reggio Emilia Apennines, you can explore a completely uncontaminated area.

This area is also preferred for dog sledding, ski orienteering, Nordic walking and snowshoeing. Not far from Piandelagotti, near Frassinoro, there are the trails of Murato Lake, with tracks of varying lengths and levels that allow you to go through landscapes and historic roads, on skis or snowshoes. The slopes, with 1 and 2 kilometer trails, are also handicapped accessible.

Offers 2011-2012. For the winter 2011/2012 season, there are weekend packages starting at 80 euro (65 for kids) with a one night stay with breakfast, ski-pass, ski rental and one hour of cross-country skiing lessons on Saturday afternoon. There are also the “Just Learning” packages, which include lessons and a ski-pass for 40-50 euro per person, depending on the length of the class either four or five hours. Or you can book the “Stay+classes” package.  It costs 100 euro and includes a overnight stay with breakfast and lunch, five hours of lessons (on Saturday and Sunday) and a ski-pass.

Not just skiing. In Piandelagotti you can experience night skiing. The Italian Ski School of Boscoreale organizes Nordic skiing courses and snowshoeing at night and with entertainment, dinners in lodges and overnight stays in amazing cabins.
