Fumaiolo (FC)

Splendid and spectacular landscape: this is the setting in which the small ski resort Monte Fumaiolo is located, in the heart of Romagna. The municipality is Verghereto.  Altitude: 1100 – 1473 meters. This lovely resort, visited mostly by cross country skiers, can be found on the mountainside of the spectacular Fumaiolo Mountain where the Tiber begins: here there is a cross country track that goes right to the source of the river.

The slopes are very wide going downhill and without obstacles. Great hospitality is guaranteed by the various accommodation structures in the area.

The area of Fumaiolo is perfect for outings, hiking on foot or horseback riding, or mountain biking. The extraordinary Moia cliffs and the wall of Montalto are used for free climbing lessons.

At the FumiPark you can have fun snowboarding, and tubing. With a new artificial snow system, there is will be snow all winter.

New this year. Do you want to learn to snowboard? In Fumaiolo the Little Fumipark is about to open: a new snowboarding park created for beginners or whomever wants to have fun with jumps and slopes for every level and ability. 

Offers 2011-2012. All inclusive packages start at 99 euro per weekend with the option to rent equipment (skis, snowboards, cross-country skis, snowshoes, etc) directly at the slopes.  The price of ski-passes has remained the same, and as always, access to the 5 km ring prepared everyday for cross-country skiing is free. There are also night and daytime guided snowshoeing outings on Fumaiolo Mountain for small groups submersed in the nature that this area provides.

Not just skiing. There are various events on schedule this year: from the boardercross and slope style competition for snowboarders to the weekend dedicated to small children with bobsledding and snow sculpture competitions.  The most spectacular event is probably the first edition of the Fumidriver, for fans of snowmobiling with agility challenges. www.rifugiobiancaneve.com
