IT.A.CÀ Migrants and Travelers 2019: Festival of Responsible Tourism

The festival IT.A.CÀ Migrants and Travelers dedicated to responsible tourism is back again this year and again focuses on travel intended as a moment of knowledge and growth, with an eye on the environment and a little critical thinking towards tourists.

This 11thedition has 15 stops among the cities and territories: #inEmilia Romagna IT.A.CA' starts from its hometown, Bologna(May 24-30), then moving to the Apennines stopping inMarzabotto, Grizzana Morandi, Val di Zena and Castiglione dei Pepoli (May 31-June 2, June 8-9). The start this year is in the evocative location of the National Park of the Sibillini Hills, symbol of the resistance (being, resisting and moving on) symbol and cornerstone of the new edition of this festival.

New hiking in the Apennines, train routes and bike trails, conventions, events, innovative projects, inclusive appointments, moments of exchange, book presentations, and itineraries are just a few of the events on schedule.

IT.A.CÀ aims to create an opportunity to reconsider traveling not just as a simple vacation of transgression and relaxation, but as an experiencecapable of presenting a challenge, a risk, inciting the desire to get to know and discover the world, far from home. Responsible traveling, in fact, departs and arrives at home (ît a cà = sei a casa? or “are you home” in Bologna dialect), any home, any Ithaca to be reached, where morethan the destination, it is the journey that counts and the way in which you set out on your travels.

IT.A.CÀ was created in response to the need to promote newethics in tourismgeared towards raising awareness among the institutions, travelers, industry and tourism sector employees for a sustainable and socially responsible development of the territory.

Today more than ever, responsible tourism does not just mean safeguarding the environment but keeping a close eye on the Country’s economy – making lesser known areas more well known – and the new individual Ulysseses, who prefer clean, free and affordable transportation.
