From Parma, Torrile is north going towards Colorno.
A basically agricultural town situated in an area with an abundance of streams and rivers which characterise the whole area.
The most important of these are the Parma River and the Naviglio, Lorno and Galasso Canals as well as some wetlands which have been preserved and improved with EU funds.
The principal monuments are: the Church of Sant'Andrea in Sant'Andrea, dating back to the XII-XIII century; the Church of San Paolo in San Polo, dating back to 1005; the Church of San Siro in San Siro, which is located in a suggestive curve of the Parma stream that frames the place in an oasis of tranquility; the Church of S. Biagio in Torrile, dating back to the XII century and the Church of S. Giovanni Battista in Gainago, dating back to the XIII century.
The LIPU Oasis of Torrile has become a national and international point of reference for nature lovers and birdwatchers.
Just 7 Km from here you can visit Colorno, where in the main square the Reggia enchants visitors with its beauty.
