Voghiera, near Ferrara, from August 6-8, will celebrate its typical local product - which has recently obtained the D.O.P recognition - with a great festival offering garlic recipes, curiosities and shows in the splendid Belriguardo Estate.
The potato is the star of this traditional festival in Montescudo, a medieval town inland from Rimini, on August 7 and 8. Among the various dishes offered, you can also taste the famous gnocchi, baccalà, piadina bread and even sweets and ice cream made from potatoes.
The castles in the Duchy of Parma and Piacenza invite you to have a banquet with dukes and princesses, music, servants and knights. There will be evening events on July 31 in Borgo di Vigoleno (PC), August 7 in the Bardi Fortress (PR), and August 10 in the Gropparello Castle (PC).
Until September 10, the beaches of Comacchio, on the Adriatic Coast, will offer a whimsical “playbill-container” of events dedicated to the typical agri-nutritional productions that make up the picnic basket of the “17 Pearls of Ferrara and its Province”.
The piadina (or piada) is a very old bread that has always been present on tables in Romagna. Around since the Romans, initially the piadina was eaten by farming families instead of bread. Today it holds its own among the traditional Romagna food products.
