It is not necessary to be a skier: in the sixteen ski resorts of Emilia Romagna everyone has a good time with night snowshoeing, kite surf, baby cross-country skiing, dog sledding, not to mention the excellent food and wine typical of this area. In the Apennines, from Piacenza to Romagna, 300 km of ideal slopes, all of which are very safe. A lot of attention is focused on kids with some of the most beautiful baby ski parks in Italy.

The winter resorts
From Piacenza to Romagna, there are sixteen ski resorts, three of which are “queen” resorts: Cimone (Mo), Corno alle Scale (Bo) and Cerreto (Re). Small, but very well-organized, there are the other resorts: Passo Penice located between Bobbio and Monsonico (Pc), Schia and Prato Spilla in the Apennines near Parma, Civago, Alpe di Cusna (Febbio) and Ospitaletto in the province of Reggio Emilia, Fiumalbo, Piane di Mocogno, Sant’Anna Pelago, Frassinoro and Piandelagotti near Modena, and lastly the resorts in the Romagnolo Apennines, Campigna and Le Balze. Locations which get better every season thanks to new slopes and lodges.
The cost of skipasses
A lot of fun, but always with an eye out for prices. Here are some examples: the seasonal pass at Cimone (Mo) costs 557.50 euro for adults and 389 for children. Children born in and after 2002 ski for free. Five days of skiing at Abetone are included in the pass.
At Corno alle Scale (Bo) the seasonal ski pass costs 460 euro (ages 9 to 18, 270 and senior citizens 340). Holidays 27 euro and weekdays 21 euro.
In Cerreto Laghi (Re) a three day ski pass is available for holidays for 70 euro, and a three day weekday pass for 42 euro. For day passes, holidays 28 euro, weekdays 20 euro. There is also low cost Thursday here at a cost of only 15 euro (excluding Christmas holidays and Easter).
